This weekend, I’m kicking off my 25th birthday celebrations with a quick trip to Boston. I’m completely ready for fall to start, but the weather refuses to cooperate. So, I’m in a heavy rotation of burgundy and tan tank tops and sandals. How’s that for transitional dressing?
My inspiration for this trip wasn’t particularly deliberate. I felt like wearing black and beige and wanted everything to match and be easy to pack in a tiny duffle. I wanted to be chic, but not fussy, so I opted for wrinkle-resistant (or looks-good-wrinkly) dresses and balanced it out with casual and youthful footwear.
What is there to do in Boston? It’s not my first time in the city, so I’m not itching to do the Freedom Trail, for example. Mostly, I want to visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, shop on Newbury street, and eat lots of Boston seafood.
Oh, and I’m leaving my computer behind! Here’s to a true disconnected weekend.
